Travel map
Like usual, we went to Greece by car from the end of July to the end of August. First we drove to Ancona in Italy, and there took a ferry to Igoumenitsa, which is just below Albania, Corfu is quite nearby.
From Igoumenitsa we first drove to a small village called Lambiri, which is near Egio on the North of the Peloponnesos. We stayed on a camping at the sea for five days there.
Then we crossed the Peloponnesos to Gythio, the 'port' to the Mani, a rather eccentric and exotic part of Greece. We stayed there on a camping for 4 days.
From Gythio we went to Kythira, an island below the Peloponnesos. You probably never visited it :-). We stayed in a village called Mylopotamos for 3 days, we rented a room there.
From Kythira we drove to Evvia (or Evia), to a village called Agios Georgios. Friends live there. We camped for free at the seaside for the rest of this vacation, having a private sandy beach in front of our tent. It never gets any better!
Then back to Igoumenitsa and from there back home, on the way stopping at the Meteora, a big tourist attraction.
4 weeks is too short....
