Agios Georgios
Agios Georgios is a village on the island Evia, near the west point, on the Lichada peninsula. Did you know Evia is the second biggest Greek island, after Crete? Did you know the island exists? Here you can read more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euboea
Why do we go there? Several Dutch friends own houses in the nearby village of Lichada, and next to Club Med Gregolimano you can set up your tent on the beach for free... Except for the club Med settlement, not many foreign tourists explore this region of Greece, but as it is only a 2 hour drive from Athens, you can guess many Greek tourists stay there during August, the main Greek summer-vacation month. All the more because since a few years a ferry sails from the opposite mainland, from Aghios Konstantinos.
We spent almost 2 weeks there, reading, swimming, things like that...
